Manila, September 17, 2013 – Doctors Teresita R. Yambot, Maria Elizabeth B. Valconcha and Mary Rose S. Paredes, who were recently appointed new members of the Board of Optometry, formally took their oath before the Professional Regulation Commission.

The oath of the new members of the board was administered by PRC Chair Teresita R. Manzala on Thursday, September 5 at the PRC Conference Room in Manila.

Dr. Teresita Yambot is the past president of the Vision Skills and Learning Solutions in collaboration with the Department of Department of Education and the past president of the Integrated Philippine Association of Optometrist. Dr. Yambot earned her Doctor of Optometry with a distinction of Magna Cum Laude and was bestowed the Outstanding Optometrist in 2008 by the PRC.

Dr. Maria Elizabeth Valconcha, on the other hand, is the immediate past president of the Integrated Philippine Association of Optometrists. Dr. Valconcha finished her Doctor of Optometry as a university scholar at the Centro Escolar University and was included in the list of topnotchers in the Optometry Board Exam.

Dr. Mary Rose Paredes is an experienced Optometrist with over 20 years of professional practice. Dr. Paredes is the past Vice-President of the Integrated Philippine Association of Optometrist and has taken a Specialization in Pediatric Optometry and Low Vision.
